Improved Secure Access Management and Single Sign-On for VisiBorker and AppServer

Entegrity Solutions® Corp., a leader in access management and application security software and services, announced today an enhanced version of its award-winning Entegrity AssureAccess™ access management software that improves user access management and significantly reduces application security development time for Borland VisiBroker® and AppServer products. Entegrity AssureAccess version 1.5 now delivers industry leading cross-domain single sign-on functionality, a new COM interface for easier integration with Windows-based applications, real-time security policy updates and instant blocking of malicious users for Borland VisiBroker and AppServer.

“Assure Access is definitely amongst the most complete solutions available in the market at the moment,” said Jose Manuel Lopez, research analyst, Frost & Sullivan. “With the release of its 1.5 version, Entegrity has substantially enhanced the capabilities of the product, adding new features that some of its competitors currently lack.”

Entegrity AssureAccess 1.5 is a pure-Java access management system with a rich policy model that provides fine-grained access control for complex, secure e-business applications. Fully J2EE compliant, Entegrity AssureAccess offers comprehensive single sign-on, authentication, authorisation and audit services and provides tight integration with today’s leading Java application servers.

"Web access management continues to mature beyond its roots as a single sign-on solution for Web-based electronic commerce," said Phil Schacter, VP and director, the Burton Group. "Going forward, it's much more likely that individual business transactions implemented in Java, will work cooperatively with the identity and access management infrastructure to make decisions on whether or not to allow the transaction to be completed. In particular, Entegrity Solutions has focused on providing a strong set of capabilities for developers of e-business applications in its latest release of AssureAccess."

AssureAccess eliminates the need for proprietary, application-specific and redundant access security to be built into individual applications running on AppServer and VisiBroker. This speeds the time to market and increases the return on investment of e-business applications by substantially reducing development costs and enabling the rapid development of e-business applications.

"Our enhanced AssureAccess software makes it easier than ever to create, enforce and monitor user access policies across VisiBroker and AppServer e-business applications and we are particularly pleased with the positive response we have received from customers, prospects and industry analysts," said Geoff Charron, vice president of Access Management at Entegrity. "By creating a solution that reduces the time needed to develop and manage application security, we are helping Borland clients streamline application access for employees, customers, partners and suppliers."

Cross-Domain Single Sign-On

New cross-domain single sign-on extends single sign-on services for users as they move from one e-business application to another, even if these applications belong to partners, affiliates or Application Service Providers (ASPs) and reside in different domains. Once users are authenticated, they can access applications within the organisation's network or on any partner or affiliate network without needing to login again. Organisations increase security by managing e﷓business security policies across multiple Internet domains, improve the user experience by reducing the number of logins required to access protected resources and reduce helpdesk costs due to lost passwords. AssureAccess gives partners and affiliates access to all of AssureAccess’ single sign-on, authentication, authorisation and audit features and functionality.

"Hogg Robinson will be bringing several new e-services to our clients during the coming year and the improvements to AssureAccess were compelling enough for us to select it for our access management solution," said Paul Saggar, head of solutions architecture at Hogg Robinson. "Entegrity seems to be leading the market today and their new cross-domain, single sign-on AssureAccess capabilities will make it much easier for us to manage our security policy and provide our users with much more efficient access to multiple applications from multiple sources."

Easier E-Business Application Integration

The AssureAccess 1.5 API now includes a COM interface, greatly extending the number of Windows applications that can take advantage of AssureAccess functionality, including C++, ASP and VB Script based e-business applications.

Real-Time Access Security Policy Updates

AssureAccess 1.5 now provides Real-Time Policy Updates to ensure that changes in access security policies take effect immediately, unlike other access management solutions that require bringing the application down and rebooting the application server or waiting hours for policies to be refreshed before changes take effect.

"Part of the Allianz Group, Cornhill is one of the United Kingdom’s largest insurers, and leads the industry in providing trusted, personalised services to its clients. As our business has grown, so has our need for an effective e-business application infrastructure for granting secure application and information access to our clients, suppliers and brokers," said Ben Holt, project manager for Cornhill. "Entegrity AssureAccess 1.5 provides the solid e-business application security foundation Cornhill needs because it meets our high standards for single sign-on, distributed user and policy administration, tight integration with LDAP directories and adherence to Web standards."

Immediate User and Group Logout

New Forced User Logout enhances security by enabling administrators to immediately log out individual users or groups from an e-business application, instantly blocking malicious users from an application. Other access management solutions require a user's access certificate to expire before the new policy can take effect, thus it can take hours or even days to block a user.

Increased Platform, Application Server, Web Server and Servlet Engine Support

AssureAccess 1.5 extends its platform support to include AIX 4.3 in addition to its current support for Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Solaris 2.7 and 2.8 and HP-UX 11.0.

AssureAccess 1.5 provides support for Borland’s VisiBroker, the engine for Internet applications and AppServer, e-infrastructure for e-Business, as well as any J2EE application server.

AssureAccess 1.5 also expands support of directories and servlet engines to include the Tomcat Servlet Engine in addition to its existing support for the JRun servlet engine and the Netscape iPlanet Web Server.
