Consumer opinions platform selects IBM WebSphere solution for scaleability, security, support and useability

Strategic Thought Ltd, the e-engineering company, has completed another successful implementation of IBM WebSphere products at, Europe’s leading consumer opinions platform.

The successful dooyoo operation was formed in early 1999. Originally launched in Berlin dooyoo now have offices in Rome, Madrid, Paris and London. Users of can view the opinions of real consumers of a wide range of products and services and are invited to comment on their own experience, via the Internet. The goal of dooyoo is to offer independent opinions on each and every product and service that interests users. This creates the ultimate buying guide on the web.

Jonathan Menmuir, a founding director of dooyoo explains why they choose IBM WebSphere products from Strategic Thought, “Our objective is to offer a website that is dynamic, reliable, personalised, easy to use and useful for all. We did an in depth evaluation of products available in this area of the market. We narrowed the number down to five products and then down to two IBM WebSphere and Weblogic from BEA.

“We choose WebSphere because we were impressed by its scaleability, security, useability and the level of support offered by IBM and their business partners such as Strategic Thought. Because of the “spiky” nature of the traffic to the web site load balancing is very important to us. WebShere EdgeServer does everything we need it to in terms of both vertical and horizontal scaleability.
