(Nasdaq: TMIC, Tokyo Stock Exchange: 4704) is the world’s fastest growing antivirus vendor, with an “impressive” 51% year-on-year (1999-2000) growth rate. Trend Micro dramatically outpaced other antivirus vendors as a result of its strengths in Internet gateway, server and subscription-based antivirus technology. The IDC study, "Worldwide Antivirus Software Market Forecast and Analysis, 2001-2005” presents a five year revenue forecast of the worldwide antivirus software market, along with key trends and the performance of the overall market and leading vendors in 2000. According to IDC, Trend Micro was the only antivirus vendor with a revenue growth rate that more than doubled the industry average of 24% (1999-2000). By comparison, Network Associates (Nasdaq: NETA) grew by 6% and Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC) by 21%.
