US-based broadband pioneer selects EMS Group for expansion into Europe

BroadJump, Inc., provider of software solutions for the efficient and rapid deployment of broadband services, has appointed the EMS Group to help accelerate its expansion into Europe. The EMS group, based in West Byfleet, Surrey, UK, provides strategic business development services for high-tech US companies intent on reaching European markets. The EMS Group helps BroadJump identify, develop and expand its customer and distribution relationships in the UK and Europe.

BroadJump enables service providers to automate the fulfillment of broadband services including the installation of high-speed access, thereby accelerating the rate of broadband deployment. By eliminating the complexities associated with fulfilling broadband services, BroadJump’s software enhances the relationship between the service provider and the consumer resulting in reduced costs for the service provider and a better broadband experience for the consumer. Moreover, BroadJump gives service providers the technology foundation to fulfil differentiated broadband services, such as virus protection, video-on-demand, and online gaming as well as enabling consumers to choose between multiple ISPs.

Business Development Director at EMS, Alan Taylor, comments, “There is continued controversy facing service providers in the UK and throughout Europe. With less than one per cent of the world’s six million broadband subscribers in the UK, BroadJump will have a significant impact on increasing this percentage. The company is well positioned to strike deals with Europe’s top broadband service providers to help ease the roll out of broadband.”

In a recent announcement, BroadJump unveiled the details of its third round of funding equaling $22 million from strategic investors including Nortel Networks, BellSouth Corporation and SBC Communications. Today, BroadJump’s customers claim over 60% of the deployed broadband operations in North America. Taylor continues, “BroadJump has everything we expect from a company that is making the leap into Europe. In particular, it has a well-differentiated technology, credible and referencable US customers, and genuine market opportunity throughout the whole of Europe.”

Vice President of Marketing at BroadJump, Matt Tormollen, explains the significance of the relationship with EMS: “Europe represents 31% of worldwide IT and telecom spending, so we are taking our European ambitions seriously. EMS has successfully provided business development services in Europe to companies such as 3Com, Dell and Compaq, and we fully expect the EMS group to forge the customer partnerships that we need to expand our business beyond the UK and into broadband hotspots throughout Europe.”

BroadJump’s flagship product Virtual Truck® Installer is fulfilling high-speed access for more than 8,000 broadband consumers a day worldwide, and the company manages more than 650,000 connections with its connection management solution, CorrectConnect™. This leadership position has BroadJump poised in Europe to drive the industry beyond the mere fulfillment of basic high-speed access towards the delivery of multiple broadband services.
