BroadJump Adds Charter Communications To Its Industry Leading Roster of Broadband Service Provider Customers

BroadJump, Inc., provider of software solutions for the efficient and rapid deployment of broadband services, today announced that Charter Communications (Nasdaq: CHTR) is deploying BroadJump’s Virtual Truck® Qualifier and Virtual Truck Installer solutions. Charter is using BroadJump’s Virtual Truck family to fulfill a range of broadband services across its entire consumer base. With the addition of Charter, BroadJump’s Virtual Truck Installer is now in full deployment by cable broadband service providers, whose combined subscriber base, comprises over 50 percent of the North American cable broadband market.

Through the use of the latest version of BroadJump’s Virtual Truck Installer, Charter will be able to integrate multiple installation models into its network, creating a consistent and unified process to fulfill a range of broadband services for its subscribers. From self-installation to retail, Charter can now offer its subscribers a variety of ways to initiate high-speed access. In addition, Virtual Truck Installer can be used by Charter to allow customers to select an Internet Service Provider (ISP) from those that the company supports in its systems.

“Charter selected BroadJump’s Virtual Truck Installer because it has shown the most return on investment of any solution on the market,” said Dave Barford, chief operation officer, Charter Communications. “BroadJump’s software not only gives Charter the ability to offer multiple installation models to our customers, but it also takes it one step further by unifying the process across our diverse environment with the support of multiple ISPs. This is a key component to us reaching our projected market numbers.”

BroadJump’s Virtual Truck Qualifier and Virtual Truck Installer are in widespread deployment with the leading service providers across all broadband access mediums including cable, DSL and fixed wireless. BroadJump’s Virtual Truck Qualifier enables potential subscribers to determine if their system can support a broadband connection. Virtual Truck Installer then automates each step required to fulfill a variety of residential broadband services ranging from basic high-speed access and multiple ISPs to applications most highly demanded by consumers such as virus-protection, firewall solutions and video-on-demand.

“BroadJump is pleased to be working with Charter because of its leadership and its aggressive deployment plans,” said Kenny Van Zant, chief operating officer of BroadJump. “Charter has recognised, as have all our customers, that BroadJump’s solutions not only improve the fulfillment of the initial broadband access but also give service providers the opportunity to leverage their broadband offering as a channel to fulfill revenue-generating services that will be the drivers of long-term success for all broadband service providers. The deal is a good example of how rapidly broadband is being deployed and taken up in the US, a trend that is finally being followed in Europe, with the UK market being the main driving force.”
