IPSWITCH INC.’s WHATSUP GOLD BRINGS ENHANCED MONITORING TO NETBOTZ NETWORK MONITORING PRODUCTS Tuesday 11 September 2001 PDF Print Ability To Monitor Wallbotz And Rackbotz Appliances As Network Devices Increases Network Protection Ability Of Environmental Monitoring Solutions September 11, 2001 – Ipswitch Inc., a leading supplier of award-winning Internet productivity software, today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with NetBotz Inc., provider of network environment and equipment monitoring products. The collaboration allows customers to easily integrate Ipswitch’s network management software, WhatsUp Gold, with NetBotz network environment monitoring appliances. “We are very excited to be working with NetBotz and to be able to add value to its innovative product line,” said Brian Landrigan, vice president of sales at Ipswitch Inc. “This collaboration allows us to offer a network management solution from which any network-dependent company will benefit.” WhatsUp Gold is Ipswitch’s mapping, monitoring, notification and reporting software that provides a detailed view of a network to help network administrators better understand and manage network resources. When a device or service is down, it sends an alarm via e-mail, pager, desktop alarm or voice so that corrective actions may be taken with minimal interruption of network service. As part of the Ipswitch-NetBotz partnership, NetBotz has developed a software module that allows WhatsUp Gold to recognise a NetBotz appliance as if it were a server, printer or similar network device and display a dedicated icon on the WhatsUp Gold interface. With this integration, IT managers can monitor the environmental conditions of several areas through one common application. If the NetBotz appliance sends an alarm, WhatsUp Gold immediately notifies the network administrator, further enhancing the monitoring capabilities of both products. Customers are able to purchase WhatsUp Gold with NetBotz products together from authorised resellers. NetBotz rack and wall appliances are self-contained, Web-accessed devices that allow users to remotely manage and monitor network environment and equipment conditions such as the temperature, humidity levels, smoke and airflow quality of an equipment cabinet or server room. WallBotz and RackBotz continually check the environment of a room and send an alarm via e-mail or pager when conditions reach adverse levels. Additionally, built-in cameras allow technicians to monitor physical access to a server room via an internally generated Web page. “Our products offer greater performance and uptime for networks through their ability to monitor environmental conditions of server rooms and cabinets,” said Steve Bankhead, vice president of information technology at NetBotz. “The integration of the NetBotz appliances with WhatsUp Gold gives the IT professional a complete view of his network and the surrounding environment through an integrated, cost-effective and efficient solution.” WhatsUp Gold is available for list price $795 through Unipalm or direct through www.ipswitch.com . It is also sold with CiscoWorks for Windows. WallBotz is available at a price of $895 and RackBotz is $995 through NetBotz (www.netbotz.com). About Ipswitch, Inc.
