Zaventem, Belgium — September 11, 2001—Keyware (NASDAQ Europe: KEYW), one of
the world’s leading providers of biometric and centralised authentication
solutions, today announced a variety of sales wins in both the United States
and Europe that total over $4 million to be recognised over the coming
quarters. The new contracts span Keyware’s product offering and include
large corporations and government markets.

Technologies & Solutions Division

Keyware’s Technologies and Solutions Division signed high profile government
contracts as well as extending its relationship with Sony Computer
Peripherals and Computer Components (CPCE).


Cuyahoga County

The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department in Cleveland, Ohio (US) is the
first office using Keyware’s Fingerprint Communications Server (FCS), which
brings to local and regional law enforcement the benefits of electronic
transmission of fingerprints. Keyware’s FCS is an interface between a
live-scan fingerprint device – which takes multiple fingerprint images
during criminal or immigration checking used by law enforcement – and
various reporting authorities. Electronic transmission dramatically reduces
the time to get a response from a local, regional, state, or Federal
automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS), and it reduces the
clerical burden on states for sending arrest records to the FBI. More
counties in the United States will be equipped with the FCS, based on an
agreement Keyware has reached with US-based reseller BMS Integrated Office
Technology.


Lockheed Martin

Keyware has had its contract with Lockheed Martin renewed for one year, plus
a one year option. The contract is for Keyware to continue working on the
successful IDENT project conducted by the Immigration and Naturalization
Service (INS). The IDENT project by Keyware allows the U.S. Border Patrol to
quickly run checks on suspects at sites across the nation. IDENT is an
exclusive automated biometric identification system that uses advanced
fingerprint and facial identification technologies to search for matches
among over 400,000 “wanted person” files and more than 2,000,000 files for
people who have been previously detained.


Sony (CPCE)

Keyware has enjoyed a long relationship with Sony, having equipped many of
Sony’s laptops and web cameras with the Keyware biometric screensaver. Most
recently, Keyware has signed an OEM agreement with Sony, to equip their
three new web cameras with biometric technology.


Applications Division

Keyware’s Applications Division has made major sales wins after the recent
introduction of the Smart-Universe Suite of products to the market.


Ahold Supermercados Espana

Keyware has entered into an agreement with Ahold Supermercados (AHO - NYSE)
Espana, an international grocery franchise that includes Stop & Shop. As an
extension to Ahold’s customer loyalty program, Keyware will roll out over
one million cards to Ahold customers over a period of 18 months, and provide
all related integration and support services.


Delhaize

Keyware expanded the contract with Delhaize, another international grocery
franchise that includes Food Lion. The renewed contract includes the
Smart-Shopper software, terminals and smart cards. The new terminal with the
“Powered by Keyware”-logo will be used for Delhaize’s next generation
loyalty platform, including e-loyalty and multi-application management.
Partners of the Delhaize Point Plus Program include Q8, BBL, Avis, VTB-VAB,
Europe Assistance, Hotels Mercure, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Sunparks and
Free Record Shop. Delhaize expects to distribute 2 million smart cards to
customers.


Valor

Valor, a loyalty system operator, has expanded its contract with Keyware.
Valor will use Keyware’s Smart-Shopper solution with many of its retail
customers and well-known city card programs, installing terminals with the
software throughout the various franchises.


Keyware’s Applications Division has also introduced or expanded installation
of Keyfree and Keytime products for physical access solutions. Significant
contracts include companies such as Novartis, Rolex, Nestlé, Zurich
Insurances, Cap Gemini and Belgacom.
