Call centre report shows Interactive Intelligence challenging traditional market leaders

London, UK (September 17, 2001): Interactive Intelligence Inc. (NASDAQ: ININ), a global developer of interaction management software, was listed as a visionary in a recently published report by analysts Gartner Inc.

The Call Centre Infrastructure Magic Quadrant 2001 report assesses major call centre vendors and places them in one of four quadrants: Leader, Challenger, Visionary or Niche Player. Interactive Intelligence was listed as a Visionary in the report, prepared by Gartner's research director, Bern Elliot and analyst, Kathleen Simpson.

Gartner defines ‘visionary vendors’ as vendors who have a clear vision of market direction and are focused on preparing for that, but can still improve in terms of optimising service delivery.

"Traditionally, the ACD has been the central factor in determining a vendor's overall ability to deliver a complete solution," Bern Elliot, research director for Gartner, said. "As can be seen in our magic quadrant, however, this is changing, with computer telephony vendors now competing effectively for the central call centre vendor role."
