IBM's first Linux Influencer Partner, announced today that they have formed a strategic alliance partnership to deliver comprehensive Linux solutions for the IBM product line. Bynari Inc., a leader in the Linux community, began delivering Linux solutions on IBM eServers in October 1998 and started the first "pure" Linux per incident help desk and professional service group in April 1999. Mainline will offer a set of comprehensive Linux service and support solutions as a result of the alliance. The alliance provides for a broader spectrum of sales and service offerings bolstered by:
* Mainline's national sales force of more than 200 account executives selling Bynari's Insight Server and client solutions. Insight Server executes on all IBM eServer platforms while the Insight client allows Linux and UNIX workstations to work with Microsoft's Exchange/Outlook solutions in heterogeneous enterprises.
* Mainline's services capability including 24x7 help desk support for IBM Linux, installation, training and support provided by Mainline and Bynari.
Bynari Insight Server gives Linux its first complete messaging and collaboration solution for organizations of all sizes as well as those with high performance, interoperability and functionality requirements. Insight Server runs under commercial LINUX distributions supported by IBM providing RFC email and collaboration standards and exploiting the benefits of commercial Unix/Linux platforms. Insight offers interoperability among these different platforms and provides a bridge between Unix/Linux workstations and Microsoft Outlook desktops.
