Show's marketing campaign comes up tops for prestigious industry award


London, 1 October 2001 – Call Centre Expo (1) 2000’s marketing campaign won the industry’s highest accolade at the Marketing Event Awards by winning the gold awards for "Best Exhibition Marketing Campaign" and "Best Business Exhibition" at the prestigious Marketing Event Awards 2001. The awards ceremony took place on 28 October 2001 at a gala evening at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London. The Marketing Event Awards honours proven effectiveness and creativity within the exhibitions and live events industry.

Call Centre Expo 2000 beat 2 other finalists to win the Best Business Exhibition Award. An independent panel of judges evaluated each individual event on comparative data with previous years or competitive shows, new ideas, marketing techniques and visitor/financial achievements were also taken into account before nominating Call Centre Expo as the winning event for this category.

Call Centre Expo 2000 beat 7 other finalists to win the Best Exhibition Marketing Campaign Award. An independent panel of judges evaluated each individual event on its clear statement of marketing strategy and implementation, with results achieved.

Mark Snell, Portfolio Director of Call Centre Expo commented: "We are delighted to win these top-class awards! Despite the potential catastrophic effect of the national petrol crisis in September last year, Call Centre Expo 2000 smashed ALL targets set out at the start of the campaign, " he continues, "since it's launch in '99 we have delivered greater numbers, a wider and higher profile of visitors, secured key company representation from organisations within the call centre industry, and also managed to double the show's size!"

Call Centre Expo 2000 attracted 6,088 people with 157 exhibitors. The event had a 54% increase in Exhibitors from 1999; a 60% increase in conference delegates compared to 1999 (with over 1,515 conference sessions booked up at the 2000 event) and a 42% increase in overall visitors (2).

Zahoor Ahmed, Group Marketing Manager for Call Centre Expo 2000, and mastermind behind the marketing campaign comments: "Our strong branding, in the form of the 'chattering teeth', represented the call centre communications environment but also tied in well with our messaging."

He continues, "The campaign was focussed in two directions - supplier and visitors. The supplier side was aimed at securing key company representation from organisations providing products and services across people & workplace, business process & strategy and technology areas. The visitor marketing campaign, on the other hand, was aimed at attracting greater numbers and building upon previous year’s successes, a strong visual brand, which the target audience could easily identify. Strong messaging was aimed to promote the benefits, business and personal, of attending the '…UK's premier call centre, telebusiness and customer management event'. The success of both campaigns ensured that the event provided call centre supplier and visitor communities with the best platform to conduct business."

This winning announcement has been made in the run up to Call Centre Expo UK 2001, the UK's biggest and best telebusiness and customer management event which will take place from 9-10 October, NEC, Birmingham.

Mark Snell comments: "Call Centre Expo 2000 delivered quality as well as quantity by attracting 67% of its visitors at Manager level or above, 45% of attendees from companies with 250+ employees and 60% having at least one call centre (3)," Snell enthused.
