Slot in Symbol's Wireless Networker card to allow your Pocket PC
or Notebook Computer to wirelessly access the Internet anywhere, anytime

Symbol Technologies is partnering with A2000 Distribution to make
its Wireless NetworkerT available across Europe for the first
time. The Wireless Networker is the world's first Wi-Fi
certified 802.11b Compact Flash (CF) wireless LAN adapter. It
slips easily into the back of today's popular PDAs, handheld
computers and other devices, transforming them so that their
users can wirelessly connect to the Internet, access e-mails and
transfer files.

The card is available through A2000 Distribution by calling 00 44
(0)1483 852000 or by emailing

This added functionality brings the world one step closer to the
dream of continuous network access, when anyone can access
business or entertainment information from anywhere, at any time.
Uses range from the convenient (business travellers logged in to
corporate networks from their PDAs whilst on the go) to the
highly practical (managing stock control in a warehouse).

The card can be used in any device with a CF Type I/II extended
card slot. As the Wireless Networker is interoperable with
multiple Wi-Fi vendors, Pocket PC users have the flexibility to
wirelessly connect not only within the office space but also from
home or public locations.

Symbol selected A2000 to help it deal more effectively with a
large anticipated demand in Europe.

"As one of the leaders in the sale of such devices, A2000 is an
ideal partner, allowing fast deployment due to their
relationships with key device suppliers and platform
manufacturers. Whilst in the early stages we are already seeing
many great opportunities for sales growth in Europe." Said Andy
McBain, product manager at Symbol Technologies.

"Symbol's latest product brings to market the key imperatives of
simple implementation, ease of use and cost effective wireless
network deployment, within reach of all users." said John
Bycroft, A2000 director and general manager. " We are especially
pleased that Symbol have chosen A2000 to take wireless networking
to the next stage in Europe and we look forward to a strong
working relationship with Symbol as the first European
distributor of the Wireless Networker."

The Wireless Networker offers fast wireless connectivity with
data rates up to 11 Mbps. Additionally it has advanced security
measures, supporting 40 and 128 bit WEP encryption and firmware
development to support Kerberos Version 5.0 when used with
Symbol's Spectrum24 High Rate wireless LAN infrastructure.

"Symbol sees the Wireless Networker as one of the last pieces in
the mobility jigsaw. With the use of the Networker, Compact
Flash devices can now take advantage of the wireless LAN
revolution," said McBain.
