- Gives End-to-End E-business Integration Solution for SMEs -

2 October 2001 (A0108) Actinic has today released the second of its
accounting interfaces, Actinic Link for Sage Line 50, which will allow
users of Sage Line 50 and Actinic Business to transfer data automatically
between their ecommerce and accounting systems at the touch of a button.
The product is now available via Actinic partners at a RRP of £350+ VAT.

Actinic Link for Sage Line 50 streamlines ecommerce and accounting
applications into a single system. It enables direct export of orders from
Actinic Business into Sage Line 50, automatically creating new invoices,
sales orders and batch invoice entries within Sage. Actinic Link will also
transfer products, customer data and customer pricing information from Sage
Line 50 to Actinic Business. You can choose to transfer all product details
into your online store, or just update stock quantities. Equally you can
transfer your entire customer base, or just select a few customer accounts.
This eliminates the need to re-key orders taken via the ecommerce site or
updating web catalogues manually.

Sage Line 50 is one of the UK's most popular accounting systems for small
to medium size businesses and is widely used by Actinic's existing user
base of over 6000 live sites in 39 countries. "From our research we expect
a big take up of Actinic Link for Sage Line 50, not just from current
Actinic users, but also from businesses that use Sage who have postponed
moving into ecommerce because of having to run parallel systems, " says
Nick Kington, marketing director at Actinic. "In addition, many of our
existing partners and Sage resellers have told us that they want to be able
to offer their customers a fully functional ecommerce solution which
integrates seamlessly with the back office systems already in place. We are
confident that more Sage resellers will want to offer this Actinic
ecommerce solution to their customer bases."

Paul Barker, director of Broadlands Business Solutions (Sage and Actinic
partner) comments, "For over a year we've been trying ways to link Sage and
Actinic to no avail, but now we're really delighted with Actinic Link for
Sage Line 50. It provides our customers with a low cost, integrated
ecommerce system that works out of the box. A key benefit is that it allows
a user to perform 90% of the work of maintaining the online catalogue from
within Sage."

Mike Julien, director of the gifts-in-a-hurry e-store, Wheesh.com says,
"Having thoroughly tested Actinic Link for Sage Line 50 I can see that it
will save us having to take on additional bookkeeping staff in our busy
Christmas period to keep our records up to date and it also improves the
efficiency of our warehouse operations. Not having a technical background
and being firmly in the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' camp, I was
sceptical about how much time the interface would save, but I was wrong as
it did exactly what it said on the box, and moreover was idiot-proof."

The launch of Actinic Link for Sage Line 50 continues the company's
strategy of developing a portfolio of add-on products to enable easy
integration of Actinic Business with existing business systems. Actinic
Link for Exchequer Enterprise is already available and others will follow
later on this year.
