…Aprisma to unite Opticom’s iView with its SPECTRUM Powered Solutions

Opticom, the leading provider of e-service chain management solutions, today announced that it has entered into an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Aprisma Management Technologies, the leader in intelligent service assurance solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, Opticom will provide the iView product suite to Aprisma for further integration with SPECTRUM and resale to Aprisma’s target markets.

“The solid integration of Opticom's iView with Aprisma’s SPECTRUM provides significant value to customers seeking to combine SPECTRUM's native operational strengths in service assurance with iView's strengths in service impact analysis,” said Dennis Drogseth, vice president with analyst firm Enterprise Management Associates. Drogseth also added, “Opticom has brought a high level of automation to a variety of disciplines from service impact assessment, to performance management, to inventory and availability management – that targets business decision making supportive of the complex IT interdependencies of the current economy.”

iView is the industry’s first integrated e-service chain management package - intended to detect, diagnose and resolve e-service management problems in both enterprise and service provider networks. Opticom’s iView offering moves beyond the approach of simply managing technology and addresses the need to deliver reliable, high-performance e-business services. iView focuses on managing the service itself by providing a cohesive, end-to-end analysis that facilitates the process of obtaining technical and business information about service quality, including in-depth availability, capacity and asset management.

“Today’s organisations must carefully monitor their current infrastructure investments and summarise raw management data into actionable information to make informed decisions,” said Michael Skubisz, president, Aprisma Management Technologies. “SPECTRUM’s intelligent information gathering relative to the IT infrastructure’s health coupled with iView’s decision support tools, improve the overall responsiveness and efficiency of skilled IT personnel.”

“We are very pleased to have entered into this new level of strategic partnership with Aprisma,” stated Ed Flannery, founder and CEO of Opticom Inc. “This agreement clearly pinpoints the additional value iView can bring to management systems. With the built-in intelligence to understand the causal relationships that impact service quality and costs, customers can begin to quickly and confidently make the right infrastructure and investment decisions.” Flannery also added, “We at Opticom look forward to working closely with Aprisma on many new and exciting solutions.”
