London, 10 October 2001 – Stream International won the highest industry accolade, the “European Call Centre of the Year Award” at the gala awards ceremony entitled "European Call Centre of the Year Awards: Space Odyssey 2001 Ball", Hilton Metropole Hotel, NEC, Birmingham, 9th October 2001. The ‘Best of Show Call Centre Product of the Year Award’, sponsored by Call Centre Expo UK (1) was presented to Persay, world leader in voice-based verification, for its product, Orpheus 2.0.

The European Call Centre of the Year Awards, organised by Call Centre Focus magazine (2), are hailed as the industry benchmark across Europe. The awards recognise best practice across the industry and provide organisations the opportunity to be commended for their achievements and the role they play within the industry. Standards of Excellence, Customer Satisfaction, Staff Development and Training are just some of the areas that the awards cover.

Entries to the awards were judged by an independent panel of 18 leading professionals from various consultancies, industry associations and key editors of supporting publications. The winners of the individual categories are as follows:
