New technology drives low cost of ownership and workload capacity up to 50,000 pages per month

Tally Ltd, the computer printer specialist, today announced the launch of three new 24-pin matrix printers. Tally’s continued investment in and development of matrix printing technology is testament to the fact that matrix printing is ideally suited to pervasive printing applications such as high-volume invoicing, labelling and data processing. In recent years, many mono lasers have been bought to do these jobs – but at much higher running costs for the buyer. In today’s demanding business climate the cost for matrix printers is a fraction of the cost of using a laser printer – typically less than 0.2p per page.

“Mono lasers have long been touted as the panacea for many business printing needs, but this isn’t the case with high workloads,” says Tally Managing Director Robin Edwardes. “Business buyers are fed up of paying through the nose for laser technology to print volume jobs like reports, labels and invoices. Low running costs of dot matrix printers make them a good option for IT managers. Tally is the only manufacturer who is seriously taking this technology to its limits in throughput and performance, and is gaining market share as a result.”

The three new printers, T2255, T2265 and T2280 feature high throughput and workload capacity, the T2280 able to print up to 50,000 pages per month (summarised in the table below).
