Appoints Executives to Positions of Vice President of Marketing and Vice
President of Customer Services




19 October 2001 - Marimba, Inc. (Nasdaq: MRBA), a leading provider of
systems management solutions built for e-business, today announced the
appointment of two vice presidents as a part of its executive management
team.




Kia Behnia, formerly vice president of product management, was named vice
president of marketing, a position recently vacated by Rich Wyckoff when
Marimba's board of directors appointed him to the position of president and
CEO. Mr. Behnia will be reporting directly to Mr. Wyckoff. Craig Parks,
formerly vice president of strategic initiatives, was appointed vice
president of customer services, also reporting to Mr. Wyckoff.

As vice president of marketing for Marimba, Mr. Behnia is responsible for
the development and management of Marimba's product strategy and marketing
programmes. He previously held the position of vice president of product
management for Marimba, and was responsible for the direction of product
development and product strategy for the company. Mr. Behnia also
previously served as director of technology for Marimba. In that role, he
served as a liaison between Marimba's key customers and strategic partners
and its product development team. Prior to joining Marimba, Mr. Behnia
served as a senior member of the technical team for Tivoli Systems Inc.,
which was acquired by IBM. Mr. Behnia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Computer Science from University of California at Davis.




As vice president of customer services at Marimba, Mr. Parks is responsible
for all of Marimba's technical customer-facing activities, including
customer care, which was previously managed by Scott Bajtos, who has left
the company to pursue other interests. Mr. Parks will also be managing
field services, and customer education. He previously held the position of
vice president of strategic initiatives and was responsible for corporate
programmes and strategic alliances. Mr. Parks also previously served as
vice president of field services for Marimba. Prior to joining Marimba, Mr.
Parks served as director of systems engineering, Western North American for
Tivoli Systems Inc., which was acquired by IBM. He holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State
University, San Luis Obispo.
