PMG Introduces Hydra Alerts Tuesday 23 October 2001 PDF Print - Advanced business monitoring system frees managers Leeds, England – The Program Management Group (PMG), UK pioneers in multi project management software, has announced the availability of Hydra Alerts. The new module for Hydra3, PMG’s recently-launched third generation programme management system, provides automatic, intelligent project and programme monitoring, freeing managers from mundane checking and monitoring tasks. Based on the Alerts product from Intelliware Systems, and fully integrated with Hydra3, Hydra Alerts allows project and programme managers to create complex business rules direct from the Hydra3 database. If a pre-defined rule is broken or selected criteria met, a user-defined message or task request can be routed via email, SMS, fax or any other messaging standards. According to PMG, Hydra Alerts provides increased efficiency for users of the Hydra3 system. “Companies using Hydra3 create highly complex databases of tasks, resources and schedules,” said Geoff Reiss, co-founder and Chairman of PMG. “The system allows for efficient planning and execution of multi projects. Installation of Hydra Alerts means managers no longer need to monitor project progress on a weekly or even daily basis – the information is in there, and Hydra Alerts will intelligently monitor target vs. schedule and alert managers to any change. A wide variety of pre-defined alerts are shipped with the product and new ones are constantly developed. One example is an automated reminder for staff to complete and submit their weekly timesheet.” The graphic data organiser in Hydra Alerts allows managers to organise alerts in a hierarchical structure, based on the organisation’s sites, departments, users, projects or a combination of the four. A hierarchy of permissions allows for selected access to rules. An Alert Wizard is provided for new users, allowing for inclusion of any level of personalised content to each alert. Hydra Alerts utilises any messaging standard supported by Microsoft Outlook/Microsoft Exchange Server. The alerts themselves can be directed to specified recipients or be taken from the Hydra3 database, allowing for powerful constructs. Available from November, Hydra Alerts is priced per Hydra3 user.
