LIGHTCONNECT Names Yves LeMaitre Vice President of Marketing Tuesday 23 October 2001 PDF Print Former Alcatel VP and GM Completes Management Team at Leading MEMS Innovator Newark, California – USA. LIGHTCONNECT, a worldwide innovator of dynamic MEMS components for optical networks, today announced the appointment of Yves LeMaitre as vice president of marketing. In this position, Mr. LeMaitre will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the global marketing and sales operations for LIGHTCONNECT as the company brings its products to the optical marketplace. One of Mr. LeMaitre’s primary objectives will be to spearhead sales and marketing of LIGHTCONNECT’s next generation optical component portfolio into Europe, growing a strong European presence through forging partnerships with specialist regional distributors. Mr. LeMaitre was most recently vice president and general manager of core data products at Alcatel USA, Inc., where he had worldwide marketing responsibility for core switching and full product line responsibility for the successful development of next generation optical routing products. He has worked in the United States for seven years and before that held various management positions in France, The Netherlands and Italy. "From my former perspective as a systems vendor delivering products to service providers, I have seen the industry gradually moving away from electronic switching to intelligent optical switching," said Mr. LeMaitre. "This trend will become even more visible when service providers resume their investment. And I am confident that LIGHTCONNECT will emerge as one of the winners in this transformation thanks to its affordable and reliable technology." "Yves is a seasoned professional who has a proven track record in the successful development of new products," said Dr. Peter O. Clark, president and CEO of LIGHTCONNECT. "We are delighted to have him join us and round out our management team. Our VOA's (variable optical attenuators) and DGE's (dynamic gain equalizers) are already being shipped to over 25 customers, and we're anticipating major design wins with leading system integrators. Yves will help us build on this base and position us for rapid domestic and international expansion." Mr. LeMaitre graduated from Nantes University in France with a Masters degree in mathematics and computer science. He also holds an engineering degree from ENST (École nationale supérieure des télécommunications) in Paris. About LIGHTCONNECT, Inc.
