Partnership Enables Service Providers To Market And Sell Data Migration and Protection Services at the Point of Broadband Installation

October 31, 2001 – BroadJump, Inc., provider of software solutions for the efficient and rapid deployment of broadband services, and SkyDeskÒ, Inc., pioneer of online data protection and management, today announced a partnership to integrate BroadJump’s Virtual Truck® Installer with SkyDesk’s SmartCloneÔ data migration solution and @Backupâ online data protection service. This partnership is a key component to BroadJump’s on-going service fulfillment strategy whereby the software vendor is enabling service providers to offer and fulfill revenue-generating services to consumers.

BroadJump’s technology allows service providers to market SkyDesk’s solutions to the coveted broadband market – transforming the broadband connection from a pipe for just basic high-speed access to a revenue-generating channel.

“SmartClone and @Backup are easy, cost effective ways for individuals and small businesses to change PCs whilst continuing to protect personal files and settings. Our easy-to-use solutions are more compelling options for these groups because they have limited IT resources,” said Mike Joseph, executive vice president of marketing, SkyDesk. “As broadband adoption continues to expand, we anticipate the demand for our services to increase substantially as well. Our partnership with BroadJump is an important step in giving service providers a quick and cost-effective approach to marketing and implementing SkyDesk’s services on desktops, simultaneously creating an excellent revenue opportunity for service providers and enhanced convenience and safety for customers.”
By creating an end-to-end solution, BroadJump and SkyDesk enable service providers to offer SkyDesk’s solutions to end-users at the point they are most likely to purchase, at broadband installation. During the installation process, BroadJump’s Virtual Truck Installer automatically steps end-users through a series of instructions to establish connectivity, and then offer SkyDesk's services. Once SkyDesk's services are ordered, Virtual Truck Installer facilitates the registration and billing as well as the download and installation to complete the order.

“Savvy broadband service providers are looking at applications and content as the answer to enhancing the customer experience and driving additional revenues,” said Matt Tormollen, vice president of marketing for BroadJump. “Partnerships with market leaders like SkyDesk play a key role in our unique ability to offer service providers unparalleled solutions that not only address current needs, but also meet the challenges associated with driving longer-term customer loyalty and financial success.”

SkyDesk joins other companies in the BroadJump Partner Network including application and content partners McAfee.com and Incanta; CPE partners Ericsson and Toshiba; and infrastructure partners Cadant, Core Networks, Nortel Networks and Portal Software.
