High-tech event strikes exclusive deal with leading storage industry association

Networks Telecom Europe 2002 (NTE 2002) and the Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA) Europe (1) today announced an exclusive three-year partnership that will see the FCIA Europe endorsing NTE 2002 as the only UK event for the storage networking industry. The event (25-27 June 2002, NEC, Birmingham) will include a Storage Networking Zone, and the FCIA Europe’s Storage Networking Conference, organised by Angel Business Communications (ABC), running alongside the Networks Telecom Europe Conference.

Paul Talbut, chairman, FCIA Europe commented: "Storage is the fastest growing segment of the IT industry and as a result we have seen several shows being planned in Europe. Following a thorough evaluation process, conducted together with Angel Business Communications, we have decided to exclusively support Networks Telecom Europe 2002 as we believe that this event is the only storage-related event in the UK with an established audience that will best serve the industry”.

Networks Telecom Europe has already secured the commitment of two leading storage organisations HPS Ltd and Brocade Ltd. Paul Trowbridge, marketing director, Brocade commented, “Networks Telecom Europe has always been an important event for Brocade. The decision by the FCIA Europe to endorse the event is not only good news for the industry but particularly good for Brocade.”

NTE 2002, the UK’s largest and most comprehensive event for the IT, Telecoms and Internet industries (3), will also showcase a Storage Networking Test Drive and a Storage Advice Clinic within the zone area. Visitors to the zone will be able to hear independent, free advice from some of the industry’s leading experts provided by the FCIA Europe.

Jane Murphy, Portfolio Director, Networks Telecom Europe 2002 commented: "We are delighted to receive this exclusive endorsement from the FCIA Europe. With continued market growth, and as storage networking issues are becoming more crucial to hi-tech organisations, it is vital that Networks Telecom Europe not only provides visitors access to specialised storage organisations, but independent, industry leading advice and information. It is only through the exclusive endorsement and support of the FCIA Europe that Networks Telecom Europe is able to do this.“

Murphy continued: “CMP consistently commits a significant visitor-marketing budget to Networks Telecom Europe and this year will be no different. Exhibitors can expect to see the same visitor density they enjoyed last year!”

Other European events selected by FCIA Europe and ABC are: SAN and CeBIT in Germany and Storage Networking World and Stockage in France.
