Gus Machado, Chairman of Data Technology said, “Our collaboration with i2 means that for the first time, i2 solutions will be more readily available to the mid-market in the UK. Together with i2, we plan to deliver a solution that is designed to release trapped resources and results in a more streamlined and competitive business. The ROI is often demonstrable and makes this solution a must for companies that care about driving their business forward in difficult times. Quite simply, it could make the difference to a company’s survival.”

Ken Adcock, i2 Alliances Director, EMEA explained, “Data Technology’s skills and experiences complement i2’s proven leadership in supply chain management to create a solution for our clients that is unsurpassed in the field. We look forward to jointly delivering value to our clients.”

Strategic supply chain initiatives are changing the way companies do business and forcing enterprises to look at the very nature of their marketplace. Companies can no longer afford to act in isolation. In today’s business environment real-time collaboration is a driving force behind true competitive advantage. The i2 – Data Technology partnership will provide the infrastructure, technical support, software, education and implementation of a company’s extended supply chain requirements, from its suppliers through to its customers.

Specifically Data Technology will resell, implement and integrate:

· i2 Supply Chain Planner
Supply Chain Planner’s main objective is to balance unconstrained demand against the supply chain’s constraints to optimise a company’s business objectives. It supports multiple workflows to create feasible material and capacity plans, resolve problems, review alternatives and reprioritise demand depending upon the time within the planning horizon.

Supply Chain Planner is designed to provide answers to: Which factory should make what product? What customers should I satisfy first? How do I allocate scarce material and capacity? What transportation mode should I select?

· i2 Demand Planner
Demand Planner is unique in its ability to manage data in multiple dimensions and multiple views within each dimension. Demand Planner helps planners accurately model their business in real-time and dramatically reduce forecast error and link the planning process to strategic goals.
Demand Planner asks whether everyone is working to the same plan or not. Often, various departments create their own forecasts that are used to guide frequently conflicting objectives.
Demand Planner is designed to support the external collaboration with business partners and to align all requirements into a consensus plan.

· i2 Factory Planner
Factory planner optimises the performance of a customer’s manufacturing operations by providing feasible plans that meet both customers’ delivery requirements and the company’s business objectives. Factory Planner generates order releases, resource schedules and purchasing requirements based on order delivery dates, customer priorities, shop floor conditions and business objectives.
Factory Planner is designed to deliver improvement in on-time delivery performance; a reduction of manufacturing cycle times; a reduction in planning cycle times; and a reduction in inventory and overtime costs.

Machado concluded, “Together with i2, we are delivering value that will make a demonstrable difference to a company’s competitive advantage.”
