November 15, 2001 – WARRINGTON, UK – EXi telecoms, a leading, independent provider of telecom services, has announced that it has agreed terms for the acquisition of high-end telecom service provider Equilon.
This acquisition brings new technology and services to EXi telecoms’ already comprehensive portfolio, including network operating centre expertise and operations, installation and maintenance facilities. EXi telecoms will provide international channels to market for Equilon’s services as well as enabling cost savings for the new group by sharing premises and support services such as HR and Finance. Equilon will continue to trade under its own name, within the EXi group, and build on its existing brand for high end services.
Berwyn Roberts, EXi telecoms group managing director; “This acquisition further strengthens our extensive range of support services to telecoms suppliers and operators on a global basis.”
Ian Thorn, general manager of Equilon, who continues to head up the company stated; “The business objectives in place when Equilon was formed are strengthened by this move. Being part of the EXi telecoms group will significantly assist Equilon in achieving its goal of becoming a leading provider
of network support and higher value technology services, whilst providing further opportunities overseas.”
