International clothing company introduces zoom images on web site; gives customers a better purchasing experience
MGI, a leading global provider of visual media software and infrastructure solutions, today announced that Bon’A Parte A/S, an international fashion company that traditionally sells clothing through printed mail order catalogues, has introduced MGI Zoom Image Server technology onto its web site at www.bonaparte.dk, in time for the Christmas shopping period.
The technology enables a large database of 500 high-resolution images of the products on sale to be streamed to Bon’A Parte’s web site, allowing customers to examine items in close detail online before they make a purchase.
The web site was developed by Danish e-business specialists, Resite (www.resite.dk).
Brian Andersen, Internet operations manager, Bon’A Parte, said, “MGI’s technology saved us a great deal of time, as we could use the same images we already had in place for our catalogues. It also enabled the images to be implemented online with the minimum of effort – allowing our customers to zoom into a degree of detail we never thought possible.
“Furthermore, we did not have to compromise our business philosophy or strategy in any way to carry out the demands set by new technology. Having worked closely with Resite and MGI, we now have a successful solution, which is very much appreciated – and used regularly – by our customers. We expect to see a significant increase in sales this Christmas, as a result of this additional functionality.”
Stephen Mold, MGI’s European managing director, said, “The Bon’A Parte online store is an excellent example of Zoom Image Server’s image management capabilities, and demonstrates how easy it is to implement the software into an existing e-business infrastructure.”
