It is the first time Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment has appointed New Media Maze to work on a campaign and is particularly important because they have be retained to specifically create, launch and run this major Christmas release.
The promotion for the Universal Pictures UK and Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment release of the Video and DVD is out to own from 19th November 2001, and is set to be a hit title when released for home entertainment.
The Grinch, which is PG rated film is based on the book by the famous Dr. Seuss, stars Jim Carey as the creature that hates Christmas and plots to steal it away from the Whos who live in the magical land of Whoville.
The comprehensive campaign that targets the children’s audience, includes website design by N1 Media who built The Grinch UK website, and games by Colbalt Blue who developed the games for the website and third party promotions.
The Grinch campaign will be pushed for until Christmas Eve with major online promotions including an online content deal with two major websites running from 19th November 2001, that are to host specially branded games for their sites.
The advertising campaign will be running across childrens and parenting sites complemented with email marketing, with an HTML email driving recipients back to The Grinch website at http://www.thegrinchmovie.co.uk where they can learn more about the Video and DVD release.
