All-in-one mobile EPoS system allows retailers and merchandisers to shorten queues and maximise sales opportunities in-store and at events

ManTech Advanced Recognition Limited (MARL) today announced the launch of its mobile EPoS product, Q-Buster, a hand held unit destined for use by retailers for in-store upselling on a one-to-one basis, queue-busting, and for merchandisers looking to overcome queue bottlenecks at events such as fashion shows, sporting, and trade exhibitions. Q-Buster comprises of a scanner, mobile printer (with optional credit card swipe), and software, negating the need to queue for goods, giving customers queue-free mobile choice. Q-Buster’s back-office inventory capabilities offer harmonisation with stock deliveries and control. No power or network connection is required, and, as such, Q-Buster is also ideal for use at outdoor events.

Many retailers have been crying out for a solution like Q-Buster. In a store, customer service and product value are increased through personal selling and queue reduction. At a sports match or concert, merchandisers can show customers the range of products, and Q-Buster will enable them to complete an entire transaction regardless of where they are in the arena. Q-Buster is designed to allow consumers to beat queues on sales days and busy periods and for retailers to maximise sales opportunities. The mobility of the device means sales assistants and merchandisers can set up a selling location anywhere in the vicinity. It is not payment method-specific, so allows for credit card, cash, cheque and voucher payments.

In addition, Q-Buster is network-independent, and can therefore act as an alternative disaster recovery system at a traditional store in the event of a systems crash. Also, during store refurbishment, where access to checkouts may be limited, Q-Buster serves as an additional resource for customer transaction. Receipts produced by the product can also feature the company logo, in keeping with the organisation’s corporate identity.

Q-Buster is a product that is unique to its intended application, and can only be used for retail environments. It has no value if it is stolen or lost, and is not targeted for theft like alternative palmtop devices that are perceived as potential luxury items for personal use. This means retailers both in-store and at events can remain focused on the job in hand, and not have concerns about the security of this hand-held device
