More than six million people in Britain were exposed to Dell Computer’s online advertising campaign in October 2001, according to the latest results from NetValue, a global leader in Internet intelligence.

Reaching 41.6 per cent of the UK’s home Internet population, Dell’s Internet ad campaign came top in NetValue’s monthly ad watch research, reaching more people than campaigns from amazon.co.uk, casinoonnet.com, msn.com and yahoo.com.

October has also seen a steady increase in UK visitors to online auction sites, with 2.5 million people accessing them during the month. This represents a 41 per cent growth during the six-month period from May 2001, when 1.7 million people visited auction sites.

The leading auction website, ebay.co.uk, has seen its unique visitors grow by more than 640,000 over the last 6 months, from 800,000 in May to 1,450,000 in October, and by 200,000 since September. Online advertising from ebay.co.uk reached over 4.3 million Internet users in October.
