New flexibility to support European rationalisation and business plans
London, UK : 28 November 2001. Compuware (Nasdaq: CPWR), the world’s fifth largest independent software provider, today announced the extension of its UK collaboration with SchlumbergerSema, the leading IT services company, to a pan-European level. The new contract, worth nearly £3 million over 3 years, will support SchlumbergerSema in rationalising its European IT operations and provides the flexibility to offer international support for application and systems integration projects.
SchlumbergerSema already works closely with many European Compuware offices. This pan-European contract covers operations in Sweden, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium and the UK.
Paul Soutter, International Operations Director of SchlumbergerSema, said: “The main business driver behind this deal was to enable the continued maximisation of our six European operations. The continuity of pricing delivers us a fixed cost base when making projections and assigning resources for new and existing business - crucial in today’s economic climate. The ability to move our workload around also means we can now consolidate the number of hosting centres across Europe, thereby improving our effectiveness and making us more competitive.”
He continued: “As Compuware is a global company with its products utilised in many of our existing and potential clients’ IT infrastructures, we have an advantage by offering Compuware as part of our consultancy and solutions package, as well as optimising the investment in our own IT infrastructure.”
Steve Jobson, managing director of Compuware UK, said: “IT services companies such as SchlumbergerSema are looking to increase their flexibility and capability to respond and provide solutions on a global, as well as regional, scale. Demonstrating strong global partnerships that can provide not only the breadth of software and knowledge but also have the equivalent presence in target regions is crucial when competing for international business.”
SchlumbergerSema customers include Adidas, Electrolux and Caterpillar.
