Pop Idol(tm)

Pop Idol is the biggest search for a solo pop superstar ever seen on television. An expert panel of successful record producers, music business people and broadcasters have selected 100 talented individuals from thousands of applicants. The tough talking experts have whittled the contenders down to a fifty-in-one nail-biting show.

Now, it is the public who decides who goes through to the finals. Viewers are voting by phone for their favourite contestants featured in the show. The public will ultimately choose the nation’s new Pop IdolÔ in a special grand finale programme.

Vizzavi is a joint venture between Vodafone Group plc, the world's leading mobile network operator and Vivendi Universal, a world leader in content, from films and music, to publishing and Internet services. The agreement, in which each company holds a 50% stake in Vizzavi, was formally announced in May 2000.

Vizzavi aims to be the leading multi-access Internet portal in Europe by delivering aggregated content and services on personalised and social basis via multi access devices, including mobile phones, PCs, PDAs (personal digital assistants) and iTV (interactive TV).

Vizzavi's unique opportunity is enabled by the combination of Vodafone's world leading position in mobile communications and Vivendi's broad and complementary interests in media and services.
