The company unveiled new features that provide network operators and content managers with greater control over live and on-demand events while improving the Quality of Experience (QoE) for employees and consumers.
The new features enable organisations to realise faster return on investment, achieve better control of network resources and provide the management and reporting necessary for effective deployment of rich media applications such as corporate communications, e-Learning and pay-per-view services.

The new features, integral to CacheFlow’s cIQ™ Content Delivery Architecture, include the ability to extend the currently supported live and on-demand methods for streaming delivery by providing support for simulated live broadcasts of on-demand streaming media files. A simulated live event involves the re-broadcast of a pre-recorded event at a specified time or on a recurring basis as part of a scheduled play list.
This unique delivery capability can also be used jointly with new pre-population and multicast features for additional control of network resources and bandwidth savings. For example, a CEO broadcast could be recorded on a Monday, archived as an on-demand file, pre-populated overnight to CacheFlow’s content accelerators at edge of the network and scheduled to air live the next day at 9am local time wherever employees are located.
Other new features include:
·multicast transmission of live, simulated live or stored media allows a single stream to reach hundreds or thousands of clients without increasing bandwidth
·support for the caching and delivery of secure, authenticated multimedia content to ensure data served locally meets access policies
·additional client-side logging and reporting for better visibility into end-user viewing and usage patterns
·support for fast forward and fast reverse playback of on-demand streaming files for improved end user QoE
