Live information systems announces flynet as first VAR

‘Green Screen’ To Internet Specialists Sign Up As Reseller For Content Management System NIMOI

Stoke-On-Trent, UK January 7th: Live Information Systems (LIS) today announced that Flynet, a leading web-to-host integrator, will become the company’s first VAR for NIMOI, LIS’s leading content management solution. Flynet, a company with expertise in implementing information management solutions, will recommend NIMOI as part of any content management solution it proposes to existing and future clients. Under the terms of the agreement, both companies will work together to develop new business with Flynet providing the integration and conversion expertise while NIMOI is used to manage the storage and interrogation of content at the web front end.

“Flynet specialises in taking green screen data and translating it into HTML to enable access via the Internet and intranets,” explains Harry Walston, Business Development Manager at Flynet. “More and more we found we were being asked to not only translate content but also manage it. We approached Macromedia to find out who offered content management solutions which used ColdFusion, and would therefore fit well with our existing web-to-host solutions. Live Information Systems was recommended and after seeing NIMOI and meeting the LIS team, Flynet was keen to become the company’s first VAR.”

Flynet has provided mainframe connectivity solutions to hundreds of major organisations as well as implementing major information management projects for Sun and a national television broadcaster. According to Walston, the VAR agreement with Live Information Systems will allow both companies to target new clients and larger projects.

“We already have one potential customer who needs to access and manage existing green screen data through the web,” concludes Walston. “And we are in provisional talks with several more. I hope to be able to make an announcement regarding the first Flynet and LIS customer early in 2002.”

Matt Farrar, CEO of Live Information Systems, was equally enthusiastic about the announcement. “Content management should not be seen as a stand alone IT project. In this age of massive data generation, the management of information is central to many large scale IT implementations. By recruiting VARs we are extending the reach of NIMOI into new vertical markets and niche IT sectors. Flynet is a very experienced company in the web-to-host integration market, with NIMOI as its content management offering it can only become more successful.”
