Stan James bets on xstreammedia for integrated communications Monday 7 January 2002 PDF Print Stan James, one of Europe’s largest sports bookmakers installs new call centre to cope with rapidly expanding business xstreammedia has supplied and installed an integrated voice system incorporating a call centre and switchboard complete with a full disaster recovery solution at Stan James, the sports bookmakers. Oxfordshire-based Stan James has recently relocated its main call centre from Abingdon, to Wantage. The new system, which is based on an INDeX telephony platform, has 60 lines expandable up to 300 lines, which will allow the company to cope with the current high growth rates. The call centre is an Avaya INDeX CCM2 with digital voice recording for 60 channels. Every call taken by the call centre is recorded and stored for later playback should queries or disputes arise. The call centre and customer service departments are open 24 hours a day, therefore entire building power recovery facilities are a critical part of the solution. The xstreammedia solution also included provision of a diesel generator and uninteruptible power supply (UPS), so covering all eventualities. Stephen Walsh, marketing manager at Stan James commented, “We offer our clients a phone based service, therefore it is very important to us to have a reliable system with no downtime, which is well supported, in order to run our business. xstreammedia have the expertise to not only advise us on the best products for our requirements, but also, to then support those products.” Jeff Siggers, sales director at xstreammedia said, “We are committed to supplying our customers with the very best, state-of-the-art voice solutions. At Stan James we have helped them to plan for future growth by providing a flexible, scaleable solution tailored to their individual requirements. In contrast to the previous telephony platforms deployed in their organisation, this solution provides a much higher level of customer-led management by allowing changes to system programming. Unlike the majority of other manufacturer’s offerings, AVAYA’s INDeX voice & data gateway has the feature sets to deliver these requirements.” -ends- Notes to Editors About Stan James Stan James were established in 1973 in Oxfordshire starting out as a small family run betting shop chain.
