OneStar Communications increases revenue with Intec’s InterconnecT CABS Service Bureau Tuesday 8 January 2002 PDF Print January 08, 2002 Atlanta / London: Intec Telecom Systems, a world leader in operational support systems for telecom companies, today announced that it will provide carrier access billing system (CABS) services to OneStar Communications, a national integrated communications provider in the US. OneStar will use Intec’s InterconnecT CABS service bureau to bill service providers that terminate calls on its networks, helping the company to collect as much as £2 million (GBP) in access fees this coming year – £400,000 more than it collected using its in-house access billing system the year before. “Relying on its in-depth knowledge of CABS, Intec conducted an audit of our access operations to identify several areas where OneStar should have been collecting fees but was not. As a result, we have increased our annual revenue stream as much as £400,000,” said Robert Seger, Jr., vice president of operations for OneStar. “There are a limited number of experts in the industry that can provide such guidance, and that’s why we turned to Intec for assistance in the access arena.” “In today’s tough economic climate, adding additional revenue to the bottom line is critical,” said Fred Brott, director of U.S. operations for Intec. “We specialize in helping innovative service providers such as OneStar get the most out of the FCC’s CABS regulations so that they can concentrate on their main focus: selling high-quality telecommunications services.” According to the terms of the contract, Intec will provide CABS billing services to OneStar for 36 months, at which time OneStar can license Intec’s InterconnecT CABS Carrier Grade (CG) software and migrate its CABS billing back in-house. This enables OneStar to immediately begin securing additional revenue while working with Intec to build internal CABS expertise. In the last 12 months, Intec has secured several new CABS software and service bureau customers. This success is a testament not only to the high quality and unsurpassed flexibility of Intec’s InterconnecT CABS CG software but also to the unbeatable CABS knowledge that Intec provides to its customers.
