Tamino Module Simplifies XML Support For Forte For Java Software Developers

Bracknell, UK, 9 January, 2002 – Software AG, Europe’s largest system software company, announced today that it has joined the thriving community of integrators building extensions to Sun Microsystems’ Forte™ for Java™ Integrated Development Environment (IDE). Sun Microsystems and Software AG have executed a Joint Marketing Agreement, whereby Software AG’s Tamino™ XML Server will be provided to the Forte for Java IDE developer community as a quick and easy way to XML-enable enterprise solutions.

Recognising developers’ needs for XML support and functionality, the combination of the Tamino XML Server and the Forte for Java IDE offers fast and easy development of Web enabled/XML enabled enterprise applications. Developers and end users alike are now able to enjoy a shorter time to market for mission critical solutions. This has been accomplished through the tight integration of Tamino XML Server’s native storage and query functionalities within the Forte for Java IDE. Tamino XML Server provides optimised storage, maintenance, publishing and exchange of XML documents.

Software AG has provided graphical user interfaces and APIs (application programming interfaces) to accelerate and ease the integration of XML-based applications with applications developed using the Forte for Java product.
