Welwyn Garden City, Herts. — January, 2002 — Heroix Corporation, a leader in IT infrastructure management software, today released RoboMon™ v7.6D for Windows NT and Windows 2000. Heroix RoboMon v7.6D now includes monitoring capabilities for WebLogic Server™, the BEA e-Business web and wireless application server, and for DB2®, and Sybase® Adaptive Server®. These new RoboMon features reduce the complexity of eBusiness infrastructure management by automatically detecting complex server and database issues, so they can be circumvented before users experience poor application performance or system failure. RoboMon 7.6D is available now for new installations and upgrades. A service pack is available to qualified customers for easy download. This RoboMon release also integrates support for the Novell NetWare operating system and configuration of RoboER, Heroix's software for emergency access and repair.
Improving the Availability and Performance of Web and eCommerce Applications
New monitoring for WebLogic automatically checks the WebLogic server in order to verify that web site performance is optimal. Heroix RoboMon provides another layer of security by examining web site activity for events that may signal a security breach, such as malformed URLs and invalid login attempts. The WebLogic solution set in RoboMon can also access and monitor web logs on all servers, check Guest Account activity, and provide performance tuning on excessive memory use, slow servlets, and other excessive events. In addition to WebLogic, RoboMon is capable of monitoring and managing a variety of other eCommerce applications including Microsoft® Site Server 3.0 (including Commerce Edition), Microsoft Windows® 2000 Terminal Services, and Windows Load Balancing (WLBS).
“We envision monitoring and management solutions as a service applied to the entire computing environment,” said Rick Lane, COO, Heroix Corporation. "No application, OS, middleware technology, or device should be left unwatched, especially now, when managers, customers, and partners are sensitive to every wasted resource, including low performance of critical business applications and infrastructures. RoboMon’s monitoring and management solutions work to ensure maximum application performance and eliminate eCommerce glitches 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
Intelligent Database Monitoring and Management
RoboMon’s monitoring solution sets for DB2 and Sybase expand Heroix RoboMon’s database support further, reaching customers with a range of database needs. As do RoboMon’s solution sets for SQL Server and Oracle, the new DB2 and Sybase solution sets proactively monitor all aspects of database availability and performance, such as the status of crucial services, CPU and memory resource usage, query response time, database storage issues, and potential data corruptions.
Proactive Novell NetWare Monitoring and Management
Heroix RoboMon’s integrated support for the Novell NetWare operating system monitors basic server operations, performance criteria, and operational alarms. RoboMon’s intelligent performance monitoring and management bolsters the reliability and efficiency of Novell NetWare and drastically reduces the possibility of server failures. RoboMon’s rules carefully monitor and analyze data collected from Novell NetWare. These rules are designed to discover and respond to NetWare-specific problems such as unavailable servers, server errors, excessive CPU usage, low file cache hit rates, long queue lengths, security issues, low directory space, and more.
