International Rectifier, a world leader in power management technology, has awarded WBC - The Contributor., an Avnet Company, with its 'Distribution Service Award 2001' for highest sales growth and outstanding performance in Europe in 2001.

Berthold Duecker, IR's Vice President European Sales, who presented the award during a celebration reception at WBC's corporate headquarters, said: "It is a great pleasure for me to honor WBC with the Distribution Service Award for outstanding performance in 2001. They achieved not only the highest sales growth in our European network but also conducted their business for the whole region in the most effective way. Moreover, this award reflects the successful and reliable relationship our companies have built in the last two years."

Duecker also emphasised: "Because of WBC's level of expertise in true demand-creation and technology-consulting, International Rectifier has experienced a tremendous increase in awareness in the distribution market as leading power solution specialist."

Klaus Mueller, President of WBC, was extremely pleased with WBC's recognition by International Rectifier: "We enjoy seeing our activities highly appreciated by a leading supplier like International Rectifier. Despite the growing complexity of our market and increasing customer requirements, we managed to maintain our high level of service and technical support.
