PMG Offers ASP Route for Project Collaboration Tuesday 15 January 2002 PDF Print - outsourced service provides lower cost of entry Leeds, England – 15 January 2002 –The Program Management Group (PMG) www.pm-group.co.uk, the specialist developer of multi-project management software, today launched a value added ASP service to offer its newly-introduced Hydra3 programme management suite. The introduction will allow for lower entry cost to programme management and eliminate the need for a dedicated administrator. PMG has created a facility to house and operate Hydra3 servers, with its staff providing technical monitoring, hardware and software maintenance and backup. Access to project planning facilities by customers is via web browser. The ‘value added’ components of the ASP service are a range of additional professional and operational services that allow organisations to outsource their programme/project management operations and/or use PMG experts to oversee the creation, development, monitoring, exception management and progress chasing of projects and programmes. This management is performed through the same web based access and monitoring system. PMG’s Hydra3 streamlines the management of multiple, simultaneous projects across multiple sites. Unlike project management systems, Hydra3 has a resource-centric approach to managing a programme of projects, avoiding the shortcomings of task-centric project management tools, such as MS Project. "Project management has run out of steam," commented Peter Bondar. "Corporations can no longer successfully deal with the nightmare of managing resources by using traditional tools. PMG has developed and proven the concept of programme management, which harnesses scarce resources around the world and delivers them where they are needed. Our ASP service will extend the reach of the product, further broadening its global capabilities and offer a lower cost of entry to the technology.” PMG will offer its ASP service on a per-user basis for project teams of 20 users upwards. Users will be able to access functionality of the innovative Hydra3 system from any standard web browser. PMG can provide links to in-house Hydra systems to ensure web-based information is always current. Hydra, the product, is a complete programme management suite, offering resource-centric, multi-project, multi-site planning capabilities. Hydra's patent based, pre-emptive scheduling technology allows organisations to successfully plan and implement multiple simultaneous projects without the limitations of discrete task-centric project management tools.
