Redcats UK automates and optimises its back office processing with Cybermation’s ESP Workload Manager
Cybermation, developer of integrated enterprise systems management software, today announced the implementation of its ESP Workload Manager solution into the UK data centre of Redcats, part of the world’s third largest home shopping provider and of the Pinault-Printemps-Redoute Group. The Cybermation software will provide a nerve centre for the automation and optimisation of the back-office processing which supports Redcats’ £375m UK catalogue business.
Redcats (UK), formerly the Empire Stores Group, is the fourth largest mail order company in the UK, and its brands include: Empire, La Redoute, Daxon, VertBaudet, and Knowing You. Behind these operations lie over 4,500 separate computer applications, which at peak times of year have to process up to 3 million CICS-based* transactions per day, in order to ensure Redcats meets its objective of processing and despatching all orders within 48 hours.
Cybermation’s system simplifies the control and optimisation of the huge numbers of complex, and often interdependent, computing operations - such as the processing of orders, payments, and despatch and replenishment details - which underpin all areas of Redcats’ business. With the new ESP system in place, all of Redcats’ 9,000 to 10,000 batch computing processes will be automated and optimised, minimising errors, speeding up operations and also ensuring the most efficient usage of the company’s IT hardware infrastructure.
“ESP has simplified the control and scheduling of all our batch processing, providing an intuitive application for what is otherwise a complex and time-consuming task.” comments Peter Smith, IT and Logistics Director at Redcats. “Not only does this make it far easier for us to increase and optimise the speed of our operations and reduce our process costs, it means that we can react far more quickly to ongoing business changes which need to be made.”
Michael Edgley-Pyshorn, Managing Director of Cybermation UK said, “Cybermation succeeds by underpinning a company’s essential business support by making complex operations simple. For any company with a high level of data processing, ESP offers savings and a return on investment that is irresistible, even in the present economic climate.”
