PNC Telecom’s Corporate and B2B channel, KJC Business Mobiles, has struck an agreement with BT Cellnet to resell the BlackBerry handheld mobile email device to corporate customers in the UK.

The BlackBerry uses BT Cellnet GPRS network to provide corporate customers with secure, ‘always-on’ wireless email and SMS text access from a handset about the size of a wallet.

BlackBerry is the only product enabling corporate users simultaneously to receive emails to their office computers and handsets, automatically and securely, providing substantial advantages to business people on the move. Only select telecoms companies will receive BlackBerry accreditation.

Darren Ridge, Chief executive of PNC, said: “BlackBerry is radically changing mobile communications in North America and we believe its UK uptake will follow the pattern of success established there. The product is a perfect fit in our expanding portfolio of innovative services and accords with our declared strategy of being an integrated mobile, Internet and fixed line reseller.

“Our strong business partnerships with all four mobile network operators enable us to tailor service, system and equipment offerings to meet the evolving communication needs of UK business.”

KJC Business Mobiles received the Customer Service Award from Vodafone last year for the service provided to the Business sector.

BT Cellnet is the UK business of mmO2 plc.
