The UK Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) has chosen Syntegra to implement its ‘New Accommodation - Transition Services’ project.

Syntegra will lead a specialist BT team including BT Computing Partners, BT Broadcast and Satellite Communications and BT Defence.

The project is of strategic importance to GCHQ and is a critical component of its investment in purpose built new facilities. Syntegra’s work will involve the transition of much of the customer’s IT and infrastructure from the existing accommodation to their new building, which is currently under construction.

‘New Accommodation - Transition Services’ will be managed using an initial 5-year framework services contract that can be extended, optionally, for a further 3 years. The contract value is expected to be around £35m.

Syntegra won the contract despite strong competition. Of the win, Dave Musson, director, government and defence at Syntegra said “The collective strength of Syntegra and specialist teams within BT proved to be a winning combination.”
