ENIGMA: THE TECHNICAL INNOVATOR OF 2001! Wednesday 23 January 2002 PDF Print Progress Software Awards Enigma Technical Innovation Award For E.bridge January 23, 2002: Enigma, the UK-based strategic business consultancy which enables companies to achieve greater ROI on existing ERP applications, has won the Progress Software ISV (Independent Software Vendor) Award for Technical Innovation for its E.bridge application. The Awards were held at last week's 2002 Progress ISV Conference in Chester. Enigma was one of six companies shortlisted out of a possible 230 ISV partners for the Technical Innovation Award. It was presented to Enigma for its E.bridge application, the first pervasive computing tool which offers totally scaleable 'any time, anywhere, any place' enterprise application delivery mechanism. As well as providing a mobile business application, E.bridge enables companies to benefit from significant cost savings through reducing stock, and cutting the inventory overhead - a major overhead for most businesses. Frank McIlroy, Managing Director at Progress Software, said: "Enigma is a well deserved winner of this award. We chose Enigma's E.bridge product not only because of its technical innovation but also as an example of a very commercially successful product, both in the UK and on an international level. Enigma is consistently at the forefront of innovation with Progress Software products." Technical Director Mike Ormerod and Operations Director Shailesh Patel were at the ceremony to collect the award. Mike commented: "We are delighted to have been presented with this prestigious award, which recognises our lead in technical innovation. We have been an ISV partner with Progress since Enigma was founded in 1990, and this award demonstrates our drive for excellence in researching and developing IT products for e-Business today." Already an established success, E.bridge is being used by Enigma's global clients including Unilever Ceylon, which is using E.bridge to power a new e-procurement system. The company's partners can now access data remotely, on any web-enabled device, effectively delivering the ERP system to where it is needed. Using E.bridge, Enigma enabled Unilever's existing infrastructure to work more efficiently, without implementing new equipment, and thus without the need to support new systems. Mark Gililland, Channel Sales Manager UK at Progress Software, added: "The awards are a great indication of our successful partnerships in the UK. Over the last 12 months both Enigma and Progress Software have invested a great deal of energy in the partnership to achieve our mutual goals. Enigma are always early adopters and have taken Progress Software's innovations and turned them into reality. Enigma was founded in July 1990 by Chris Burns, Mike Ormerod and Shailesh Patel. Since its inception the company has grown to 38 nomadic consultants with a global client base including Walkers, easyjet, Birds Eye Walls, Coca Cola, Unilever, St.Ivel, Colgate-Palmolive, Müller, South African Breweries, Lucent Technologies and FCI Framtome.
