LONDON, England, 28 January, 2001 – Enigma Inc., a leading provider of content-driven e-business for the support chain, today announces that its 3C Platform has been chosen by MG Rover Group as part of a major integrated global parts service operated by Caterpillar Logistics in support of MG Rover’s worldwide dealer network. The project aims to increase MG Rover’s aftersales business as well as improve customer satisfaction by providing better spare parts support for MG Rover maintenance and aftersales services.

Enigma’s XML-based 3C platform will provide dealers with electronic access to the complete parts catalogue – 60,000 part numbers and over 7,500 illustrations – for the entire current MG Rover range in 7 languages. Dealers will be able to use enhanced search, visual navigation and intelligent cross-referencing to carry out servicing and maintenance operations more efficiently.

The aftermarket partnership between MG Rover and Caterpillar Logistics was announced in October 2000 and will go live in March 2002. Commenting on the agreement, Don Lindsay of Group Aftersales, MG Rover Group, says, “Full development of our parts business is a major element in our company's business strategy. With a turnover in excess of £200 million per annum, parts represent a key additional revenue stream which we intend to develop fully."
