Globetrotter GTlicensing(tm) to be integrated into Intraware SubscribeNet® to provide complete solution to Software Vendors
ORINDA and SUNNYVALE, California-(January 30, 2002)-Intraware, Inc. (Nasdaq: ITRA), a leading provider of Electronic Software Delivery and Management (ESDM) and information technology (IT) management solutions, and Globetrotter Software, a division of Macrovision Corporation (Nasdaq: MVSN), a world leader in Digital Rights Management technologies, announced today that they have signed an alliance agreement whereby Intraware will integrate Globetrotter's GTlicensing(tm) electronic license distribution application with Intraware's SubscribeNet® service to provide software vendors with a complete electronic software and license delivery solution.
This alliance enables software vendors using SubscribeNet to provide their customers the ability to both download their FLEXlm®-enabled software products, and generate and download licenses for those products, from a single website. The integration of GTlicensing and SubscribeNet offers a single hub for software vendors' electronic software delivery and license management systems, thereby reducing their implementation and support costs. At the same time, the integrated solution will help improve the end-user experience, providing a key incentive for software vendors to adopt electronic licensing and electronic delivery. It also enables software vendors to outsource their electronic delivery and licensing functions to Intraware, a vendor with a proven track record in ESDM, allowing them to focus their resources on product development and marketing.
"We are delighted to be working with Intraware to bring such an important capability to our combined base of software vendors," said Mark Belinsky, Globetrotter's senior vice president and general manager. "End-users will see significant benefit in reduced time to administer and install licenses from one location."
"This alliance brings together leaders in two critical and adjacent markets to provide a new level of service for software vendors and their customers," said Peter Jackson, chief executive officer of Intraware. "This will provide a foundation for the future of integrated software license delivery and help software vendors to most effectively serve their global customer base."
Intraware's SubscribeNet® service has a proven record of helping enterprise software companies reduce customer support and operational expenses, accelerate delivery for revenue recognition purposes, and create closer, more profitable relationships with each customer. The solution can be rapidly implemented and seamlessly integrated with any software company's web site, satisfying the increasing demand for electronic delivery of applications and updates to streamline the software fulfillment and management process.
Globetrotter's GTlicensing provides software vendors with extensive capabilities to configure, deliver and manage electronic licenses. It is a companion product to FLEXlm, and provides an enterprise-class solution to support a wide range of licensing functions. In particular, it provides for automatic generation and distribution of licenses over the Internet, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
