Computer printer specialist at stand 6, Sandown Park, Esher

Tally, the computer printer specialist, today announced its attendance at Logistics Link 2002, the new event designed to meet logistics professionals and technology providers. Tally will be demonstrating a selection of products from its colour laser, line matrix, and production inkjet ranges, with a special focus on applications designed to reduce cost of ownership.

Tally's Managing Director, Robin Edwardes, says, "Logistics professionals understand the importance of efficiency and cost management. Tally understands that the demands of the logistics environment are varied, and has carefully selected each printer for this show as being ideal for all logistic printing applications, from barcodes and labels to delivery notes and reports. Reducing cost of ownership really is a matter of matching the right printer to the right application, and that’s what we’ll be demonstrating to the show’s delegates.”

The T6218 line matrix printer is used for producing volume output, including barcodes, invoices, reports, shipping notes, and delivery labels - often in labour-intensive and inhospitable environments. The printer features a ‘stay black’ Smart Ribbon, which guarantees to produce consistent quality print throughout its life. Where customers understand the cost benefit of impact printing, but demand quiet operation and high print definition, without sacrificing throughput, Tally will be demonstrating its T3016 and T3016c production inkjet printers. These models use revolutionary ink technology for better print quality, but still at the low cost of just over 0.2p per page. These models run on oil-based ink, and the T3016 was recently awarded a secure printing accreditation from APACS. Applications for production inkjets include financial documents such as cheques and invoices, and legal documents including certificates and licences. .

For general office printing Tally will be showing its T8006 colour laser. Edwardes concludes, “We’re hoping to educate logistics managers in the importance of getting the right print balance for their use. A good example is the standardising of colour lasers in place of the mono laser and colour inkjet mix. Cost inefficiency cannot be tolerated, and we can show how our customers are moving away from expensive-to-run colour inkjets.”
