WHAT: Demonstration of Voice Quality Demonstrator - maximising ARPU(average revenue per user) for operators


Now that coverage and cost per minute are no longer issues, voice quality, particularly on wireless calls, is the most critical carrier issue. Furthermore, voice enhancement systems play an important role in improving audio quality for voice over IP (VoIP) systems and voice recognition accuracy for enhanced services, such as voice-activated dialling.


The Voice Quality demonstrator is a very compact unit that enables the customer to tap into any mobile network in the region and check for voice quality. At a press of a button, the customer can experience the significant quality uplift all in real time on a real network. The customer can also compare this improvement with other service providers in that region. The real time aspect and using the "live network" makes this demonstration very realistic and enables busy executives to experience the demo in the comfort of their meeting rooms in a short space of time. The Sonata Studio Sound technology gives a significant uplift in quality that could result in increased revenue (ARPUs) and helps to minimise the churn due to degraded quality.

This offering comes from NMS' Voice Enhancement and Echo Cancellation Business, recently acquired from Lucent : it spans a line of systems that telecom carriers deploy in central offices and mobile switching centres in order to achieve consistently clear audio quality.
