UK Oracle User Group (OUG) Appointments Underline Edenbrook's Growing Reputation in Oracle Markets Monday 11 February 2002 PDF Print The UK OUG today announced the appointment of Edenbrook’s Anthony Woods to chairperson of its distribution and manufacturing Special Interest Group (SIG) and Nick Humphrey to deputy chairperson of the group’s SIG for customer relationship management (CRM). The appointments reflect Edenbrook’s growing recognition in CRM and Oracle-based ERP applications markets. Woods’ appointment follows a two-year post as deputy chairperson for the manufacturing and distribution SIG. Over ten year’s experience implementing Oracle-based manufacturing and distribution systems prompted his appointment to chairperson. Woods said: “This year we’ll see more and more companies transitioning to Oracle’s eBusiness application suite - Oracle 11i - to take advantage of its enhanced Internet procurement and order management features. But there’s a host of complexities associated with re-implementations and upgrades. Edenbrook is dedicated to sharing its expertise in this area. We believe in forging deeper and more trusting relationships with our clients and in increasing long-term value to customers.” Prior to Edenbrook, Woods worked with Fulcrum Solutions, the UK’s largest independent Oracle consultancy. The Fulcrum team grew the company to a turnover of m inside three years, before selling to Whittman-Hart. The two Edenbrook consultants will be responsible for chairing and deputy chairing SIG annual meetings and supporting the UK OUG annual conference in December 2002. Humphrey’s experience across multiple CRM platforms was the key impetus behind his appointment with the CRM SIG - a growing and significant part of the UK OUG. The principal consultant for Edenbrook said: “My expertise outside of Oracle applications, with Siebel’s industry-leading offering for example, puts me in an excellent position to benchmark Oracle’s CRM application.” Edenbrook uses a unique framework, which emphasises the importance of CRM as a business strategy. Humphrey explains: “CRM is about people, business processes and planning, not about software platforms. This perspective gives me objectivity when it comes to assessing the merits of the various CRM applications available.” Edenbrook has led CRM implementations for a number of top automotive, financial and telecommunications companies. Prior to Edenbrook, Humphrey worked for Siebel Systems. Before that he worked for PwC as a management consultant. Membership of the UK OUG has reached 2,750. Its aim is to disseminate understanding and experience when it comes to Oracle-based applications. -ends- Notes to editor About Edenbrook Edenbrook is an independent systems integrator, specialising in ERP, CRM, Business Intelligence and eBusiness solutions.
