Steve Knowles steps in as joint managing director to implement strategic plans and manage sales and marketing

Tamworth, UK – 13th February 2002 – UK based Vector Networks Technologies Ltd has appointed a joint managing director to spearhead the implementation of the company’s strategic plans and to take responsibility for the sales and marketing of its portfolio of products.

Steve Knowles will work alongside existing managing director Peter Briggs, who will be responsible for handling all other aspects of Vector Networks’ business. As an experienced Chartered Accountant, Knowles’ career to date has focused on advising businesses. He has worked closely with Vector Networks since June 1997, is a Director of Vector Networks Technologies and is the Chief Financial Officer of Vector Networks Inc, based in Atlanta.

His appointment follows Vector Networks’ continued success in the corporate PC management applications marketplace and its recent acquisition of e-support specialist Metaquest. The company is now looking to add new products to its global reseller channel portfolio through further acquisitions and licensing agreements.

Knowles comments:

“My role here is to ensure the implementation of Vector’s strategic plans and to take responsibility of the sales and marketing of the products,” he said. “The need for my appointment comes from the enormous success the group is having on a world-wide basis. We are now represented on all continents of the world and our business activities have become more diverse and complicated.”

Part of Vector Networks’ strategy is to expand the scope of its world-wide distribution network through acquisition, collaborative development and adding complementary products to its product portfolio for resale through the channel. Vector Networks is currently targeting software developers wishing to take their new products to a far-reaching market within a limited timescale.

UK-based Vector Networks specialises in developing Windows NT/2000 based products for desktop management. The company services approximately 5000 customers in over 35 countries with software installed on nearly 2.5 million PCs.
