ROCOM & TOTEM SIGN SERVICE PROVISION AGREEMENT Monday 18 February 2002 PDF Print Rocom Group Ltd. and Totem have signed a service provision agreement that will see the partnering of Totem’s expertise in the creation of service solutions for companies of all sizes and requirements, with Rocom’s extensive customer base. And already one of the early business wins from the deal has been the creation of a powerful set of solutions to Premier League football club Bolton Wanderers. Boasting the UK’s largest choice of telecommunications products and services from the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers, Rocom can offer customers like Bolton Wanderers more than 12,000 products, sourced from 200 suppliers worldwide. Totem, the company which helped fans of the Big Brother TV series to monitor proceedings in the house by creating a ‘real time dial-up service’ for Channel Four, specialises in providing tailored communication packages for business users. And in the first flowering of the agreement between the two companies - a call handling service provided to Bolton Wanders FC - Rocom and Totem have not only helped the club to manage its calls, but have also added functionality and new services so that the club could maximise its ticket sales and merchandising. From this month an extensive ‘menu’ of communications services will be on offer to Bolton fans keen to buy season tickets, hear the latest news about match scheduling, and even order from the club’s extensive range of merchandise. Out of the nearly 35,000 calls a month received by the club in the Autumn of last year, Bolton was only able to handle around 13,000 of these calls. Something needed to be done to help maximise ticket sales. Because Totem specialises in providing tailored communication packages for business users it was able to not only help Bolton manage its calls, but also add functionality and new services so that the club could maximise its ticket sales and merchandising. Speaking about the new services created for Bolton Wanderers FC and the partnership with Totem, network development manager for Rocom Group Ltd. Ross Knapman said: “We searched high and low for the right company to service Bolton Wanderers’ needs and we have been very pleased with the results from Totem.” Totem’s director of sales and marketing Phil Adams said that Totem was delighted to be working with Rocom, and that to begin the partnership with providing business solutions to Bolton Wanderers as “icing on the cake”. “Rocom is well known to be one the UK’s most successful telecommunications companies. Rocom has been very influential in the way that a growing number of goods and services are brought to market and the manner in which relationships between suppliers and end users are managed. We at Totem are very pleased to be part of this influential network.” Totem is a dynamic, innovative and growing telecommunications company that has grown from being one of the country's largest resellers of Freephone numbers to become a leading provider of intelligent network business solutions. It has built its own intelligent network platform that enables it to cater for the varied requirements of large and small organisations.
