25th February 2002: theprinterdatabase announces that from today, it will be selling printers and consumables direct to its customers worldwide. The announcement coincides with the opening of a new office in Vancouver, Canada.


Theprinterdatabase previously sold equipment via partner resellers on both sides of the Atlantic, but in response to demand from its members has set up as a dealer in its own right. Theprinterdatabase has developed microsites for leading brands of printer including Epson, Genicom, Kyocera-Mita, Minolta-QMS and Xerox, where customers will be able to browse the range of products, get immediate competitive pricing and request print samples, demonstrations or an immediate sales call.


Customers can also view the brochures and datasheets that accompany each model of printer, make comparisons online between printers and now purchase the printer from theprinterdatabase that best fits their requirements.

North America has become a focus for theprinterdatabase with thousands of new members signing up over the last twelve months. In response to the huge demand, theprinterdatabase has opened an office in Vancouver, Canada having licensed the service to Vancouver Graphics, a specialist reseller of colour and high end printing solutions that is run by Chris Hammond, formerly MD of Status Graphics in London. The 5,000 North American members will now enjoy higher levels of service within their own time zone.
