Scottish software company Axxias today announced the launch of Axxias.ColumnStyles, a component suite for the Microsoft .Net development environment.

The components provide essential enhancements to the Microsoft DataGrid control which is bundled with the Visual Studio .Net development environment. The suite comprises of six ColumnStyles which provide developers with a far richer interface than is possible with the standard DataGrid, but at a very reasonable cost.

Paul McClure, CEO at Axxias said "The Microsoft DataGrid control is arguably the most powerful control that Microsoft have developed, however it was lacking in several key features which are essential for corporate developers. When developing professional user interfaces, the standard Text Box and Boolean flag input styles are simply too restrictive. Axxias.ColumnStyles allows developers to add Formatted Text Box, DateTime Picker, Combobox, ImageList, Button and LinkLabel columns to their grids."

“By utilising our component suite, companies do not need to purchase a replacement DataGrid control from component vendors. Rather, they can keep the tried and trusted Microsoft control, but simply hook in our enhancements".

"With a purchase price of $149 for a single developer licence, our components are much more cost-effective than a full replacement grid. The increase in productivity and improvement in the application interface pays off within hours."

Axxias.ColumnStyles is 100% managed code, ensuring that applications built with the product make full use of the performance and memory handling features which the .Net platform provides.
