ProjectWorld, 13-14th March 2002, Stand 710, Novotel, Hammersmith, London, Monday 4 March 2002 PDF Print Effective work methods spread via web service Projectplace London, March 4, 2002 - Projectplace Ltd, the leading Internet Business Service Provider for project collaboration in Europe, today announced a unique addition to the service, which enables project work to be simpler and more efficient. The new 'Project Templates' feature will enable Projectplace customers to create their own customised templates. These can then easily be distributed on to for example colleagues, customers and partners for reuse - saving them time, effort and money and establishing a common project model. This new addition to the service will make it quicker than ever before to establish a highly operational working methodology within an organisation and will be demonstrated for the first time at the ProjectWorld exhibition. Project templates can consist of folders, documents and files, document archive structures, pre-defined document templates, milestones, tasks, subtasks and contact lists. There is also an option to include member groups in templates. By having member groups in a template, and giving these groups different permissions to folders in the document archive, you can effectively support the various standardised roles already established within the project set-up. "The new addition to the service is an innovative way of providing our customers with a method of developing a standard set of processes within a template which will help them to carry out certain tasks. The team can then pass the template on to others to use with the help of our web service," explained Mattias Hällström, CEO and Co-founder of Projectplace. "We are the first to offer this type of functionality and hope that it will make things easier for both individual project leaders and project members, but not least for companies and organisations who want to co-ordinate their projects or spread their own project methodology more efficiently." Dak Liyanearachchi, managing director of Projectplace Ltd adds: "This new facility will save users from 'reinventing the wheel' each time they want to start another process, cutting down on start-up time and therefore project implementation. We received a lot of requests from our customer base for templates so that they could then offer it to their customers - we saw it as an opportunity to service our clients requirements and to enhance our service." Projectplace International The company's business idea is to develop and provide a web service for professional project work. The Projectplace.co.uk service is aimed at those individuals working in projects together with colleagues, customers and partners. A project place is a password-protected place on the Internet with functions for project and document handling, as well as group communication brought together in a single place. A project place is always available to the project members via the Internet and a standard web browser. The service, developed in Sweden, is the market leader in Europe and has 80,000 users. It is available in several different language versions and has local representation in Norway, Holland, Great Britain and Germany.
